Day 2: Change planes in Madrid and on to Paris
Landed in Madrid at noon August 2. Madrid airport is like Miami, except instead of walking in straight lines for miles, in Madrid we walked in circles and up and down escalators for miles. And the escalators are tricky--they start out flat like a moving sidewalk and then they go up. You'd better be ready with everything on balance when lift-off occurs! Immigration was easy--and good for all the countries we are visiting. Cool! But when we went back through security, they only have shallow bins and I had too much stuff. But I only lost my boarding pass--yikes! While putting my belt back on, I heard a female security agent yelling "Rober Rawndray!" and waving my boarding pass. Saved by a Spanish woman!
